Lomo going digital [11 Oct 2006|12:35am]

[ mood | curious ]

I can't remember where I read this (I tried to relocate the original message about it but sadly I didn't find it), but a while ago I read that Lomography is going to release a digital camera.
Does anyone know more about this?
When would it be released etc.

Hi, the refurbished LC-As lomography.com has released is very, very tempting, but how is it any different or better than the originals? Are they just repaired seconds? In that case, wouldn't it be more worth it to get a well cared for secondhand instead?

Also, since original LC-As have more less become extinct, the ones currently available in local stores (around the world) can't be brand new, but neither could they be secondhands packaged as newly-made...

I'm from Singapore, fyi, and there are currently only two places known to stock the LC-A - the Japanese flagship bookstore Kinokuniya and a photography school Objectifs - and I want to know what exactly I'll be forking 300+ for, especially when they've got different packages at similar prices!

All advice appreciated. ^_^

LCA scans [27 Apr 2005|12:48pm]

omu

Cross posted to lomo_photos but with different pictures. I just developed a roll from my LCA and there's a couple I'm pretty excited about. It made me realize I haven't shared photos via LJ for a while. I'm a bit of a Flickr addict these days. Here's a couple older scans. I'll post the new LCA shots when I scan them, probably next week. One of them features a real spycam style shot of someone's butt crack, so you've got that to look forward to! Also, you can click the photos to see my whole LCA set on Flickr. I put a couple more a behind a cutCollapse )

So lomo using folks, I ordered my brand new Lomo LC-A from the stylishly monopolisitc Lomographic Society last week. It hasn't arrived yet, and I anxiously await its arrival. However, I was wondering. While I have read many great things about the LC-A and viewed many of its lovely pictures all over the internet. Unfortunately, I have also read about the typically Soviet construction of the camera, in that its build quality is shit. Mostly, I'm worried about reports that state the shutter stops working, and the roll of film comes back blank, and it takes a miracle for the shutter to resume working.

What is your typical experience with these things? Anyone have that specific problem, or any other general problems? Thanks a million.

looking for lomo [06 Feb 2005|12:27am]

Hi all. My aunt sent me a Kiev 35a this Christmas. Problem is that the shutter won't close all the way after clicking, overexposing all the shots.

What I love about the Kiev 35a is the size, it's compact. Can you guys recommend other lomo cams with better quality control?

Thanks.

Hello, lomo peoples

After over a year of snapping with the LCA and making piles of prints, I finally have a scanner. I built myself a lomohome, just to get started. Probably there's better ways to put albums online, but that will come later.

Now I must sleep.
